In July 2016, Posti organised a tender on future payment solutions for Posti, involving several operators. Posti wanted to find a reliable and cost-effective partner, able to fulfil Posti's requirements regarding data security, usability, and cost-effectiveness.
Out of all participants, Nets proved the closest match to the requirements set by Posti. Nets is able to provide all of the requested service components, such as EMV/PCI-approved payment terminal devices and software with incorporated contactless payment and mini checkout features, as well as payment transaction verification services, routing services, and user support services. Nets' service selection offers consumers a state-of-the-art payment experience and automates Posti's current financial administration processes.

The agreement covers three stages. During the first stage, Nets supplies portable (3G) payment terminals for delivery vehicles, enabling the drivers to take card and mobile payments directly and print customer receipts consistent with the Finnish Accounting Act. This speeds up parcel deliveries and improves the customer experience. The shipment of payment terminals for delivery vehicles has already begun and will be completed by the end of January 2017 for Posti's operations in Finland and the Baltic countries.
The second stage covers a payment solution for Posti's service points. The service provided by Nets supports all forms of payment: cash, debit and credit card, contactless, online and mobile payments.
The third stage relates to Posti's parcel points. These have become increasingly more popular in recent years, already amounting to roughly 500 around Finland. The number and popularity of these self-service points continues to grow along with the growth of e-commerce.
