In order to achieve consistency throughout the intro, outro and the use of graphics in film, please adhere to these guidelines.

The rules included focus on film production for a standard format of 1920x1080 px. Light blue measurement examples

can be used as templates when placing logos, payoff, name/title, etc.

Intro and outro

The intro and outro should be used throughout all Nets film productions – internal and external. TV commercials should use only the outro, while web productions should use both intro and outro. Only the outro should feature additional information such as the payoff, product logos and/or call to action.

The logo's appearence is a dynamic animation. It is important that the logo's dots do not conflict with any animated conceptual dots in the image.

Examples of the animation can be found here (zip files): alpha, footage, graphic

Intro and outro

The intro and outro features an animated logo. Only the outro can feature additional information such as the payoff,

product logos and/or call to action.

Logo animation sequence

Logo animation should not be initiated before any conceptual dots used in the footage have disappeared.

We do not want the two dot universes to mix. Animation example can be found here: (zip files): alpha, footage, graphic

Intro with logo only

The intro should only feature the logo animation – no payoff, call to action or other elements.

Intro for internal use only

In the intro for internal films the logo animation can be replaced by a heading and subheading.

Heading and subheading must adhere to basic typography guidelines.

Outro

The outro contains the logo animation and any additional items such as payoff, call to action and/or other elements.

Logo size and positioning

Logo width is 640 px., which equals 1/3 of the standard format width of 1920x1080 px. The logo is centered according to the basic guidelines.

Payoff and call to action

The payoff is horizontally centered and placed with a distance of 120 px. below the logo in Uni Neue Bold. The X-height equals 30 px. The call to action is placed 270 px. below the payoff in Uni Neue Bold. The X-height equals 24 px. Payoff and call to action must increase in size to 65 pt. for use on mobile devices.

Graphical intro and outro

The intro should only contain the logo animation – no payoff or call to action. The intro or outro may inlude the graphical dot pattern as a simple animation that initiates after the logo animation is finished. The graphical intro and outro are not to be used for TV commercials.

Graphical intro for internal use only

In the intro for internal films the logo animation can be replaced by a heading and subheading.

Heading and subheading must adhere to basic typography guidelines.

Outro transition with product logos

For use in the outro only, white product logos can be introduced. Product logos disappear via a transition to the payoff as shown below. Product logos should have a black shadow effect of 5. in order to make the logos readable on any background.

An animation example can be found here: (zip files): alpha, footage, graphic

Product logos

As these may vary in numbers, as well as in height and width, they should be individually scaled in order to mutually match each other, with a proper spacing between each logo replacing the overall width and/or height of the payoff.

Cinematic bars

The use of cinematic bars is optional and may be used if they fit the purpose of the communication. Keep in mind that any grading used in the film should also apply to, unmasked areas so the material can be used without bars on other formats.

Animation

Conceptual dots, graphical dot pattern, icons and large text may be animated. Conceptual dots are our most important element as they illustrate our presence and solutions in the big picture. The dots must always be animated in a calm way, generally rising upwards. The graphical dot pattern can be used more vividly. Both conceptual dots and graphical dots must adhere to the basic guidelines outlined within this design guide.

Conceptual dots

Must always have an elevating/rising effect.

Graphical dot pattern

Can be used on a Nets light blue or Nets dark blue background. Graphical dot pattern must follow the principals from the basic design guide. Not to be used on footage, only on static images.

Numbers

Short amount of text in Nets orange, dark blue or white can be animated in the image.

Inclusion of logo throughout film

We offer the option of including the Nets logo throughout the film. This, however, is not mandatory.

Logo version

For a more subtle appearence, the logo is exposed as a watermark in semi-transparent white only with 50% opacity.

Logo size and positioning

The logo is placed in the top-right corner of the frame. On the standard 1920x1080 format, the logo height should be 60px.

Distance between the logo and the top edge and the right edge should equal the logo height (60px).

Writing on screen

Messaging in film can be made in two ways: as simple text directly on top of the image or as conceptual dots holding copy inside. In both cases, the basic guidelines for usage of typography, colors and conceptual dots must be followed.

Simple text on top of the image

This is a more subtle way of communicating as the text floats freely on top of the image. Text should be white, Nets orange or Nets Dark blue. Text size and position should complement the footage.

Conceptual dots holding copy

This is a more colorful way of communicating. Text can be included within multiple dots or a transition of multiple text messages can be made within the same dot, depending on the impact of the messaging.

Name and title

Name and title should either be fixed inside a Nets dark blue box, which is positioned in the lower left-hand corner, or they may float freely on top of the image whereever it fits. In both cases, the construction principles outlined below must be used.

Recommended height of the fixed box on the common format 1920x1080 is 150 px., positioned 60 px. from the bottom.

Text inside the Nets dark blue box is set in Uni Neue Heavy and Book, size 55 pt. Free-floating text may increase in size.

Subtitles

Subtitles are "cinema" styled in white text. The style is Helvetica Regular, size 65 pt. with a black shadow effect at 5 which makes the text readable on any background. The cinema styling is a simple way to add grandiosity to the film.

Infographics

Detailed infographics may benefit from a semi-transparent blue background in order to enhance readability. The blue background is defined as Nets dark blue with an opacity of 60% and should have rounded corners with a radius of 40 px. Larger and simpler graphics may be applied directly on top of the image. Infographic use of colors and typography must adhere to the basic guidelines.

Infographic on semi-transparent Nets dark blue background

If the infographic is detailed it may benefit from a standardized semi-transparent Nets dark blue background to increase readability.

If the infographic is to be placed on a calm background, it does not need the semi-transparent Nets dark blue background.

Infographic directly on top of the image

Content must be kept simple, and the size should make a visual impact.

If the infographic is to be placed on a calm background, sizes can be reduced as the visual impact is stronger.

Icons and graphical illustrations

Icons and graphical illustrations are used in film in two different ways: the icon may only be placed inside a conceptual dot with no other text or information present. On the other hand, graphical illustrations can be used on top of footage in a free-flowing manner. In both cases, the basic guidelines for usage of typography, colors and conceptual dots must be followed.

Icon inside conceptual dot

No other text or information inside the dot.

Graphical illustrations

The graphical illustration and text should complement the footage and should be placed on a calm background in order to stand out.

Grading

Aerial, lifestyle and product environment imagery must all adhere to the basic imagery guidelines outlined within this designguide.

The overall look and feel is authentic and natural. The locations, situations and people look genuine and not staged.

The pictures are kept calm to give space to text and graphics. The tones in the pictures are warm, but there are also blueish

tones to create contrast, giving the pictures a smooth and inviting feel, and to match the Nets colors.
